With the air conditioner fully operating the fuel consumption of our armored Toyota LC200/Lexus LX570 VPAM VR10 is 30-34 liters per 100 km for a gasoline engine of 5.7l, and 24-27 liters for a 4.5 liter diesel engine.

We accelerated our armored vehicles (both with a petrol engine of 5.7 liters and with a diesel engine 4.5 liters) to the speed of 140 km / h. Taken into account the vehicle weight - 5 tons, we decided that this speed would be enough for a comfortable moving.

Our armored Lexus LX 570 accelerates to 100 km / h in 12 seconds. You can see it in the video below.

Despite the highest level of protection for the civilian vehicles VR10, our engineers could minimize the weight of the vehicle – the armored Lexus 570 weighs only 4980 kg, the weight of the Toyota LC is less, it depends on the installed options on the vehicle.

We can’t avoid reducing the inner space of the cabin as we mount the armored capsule, but we have made the design in such a way so the inner space is maximized. We completely rеbuild the interior to put the interior elements as close to the armor as possible - only the seats are not changed, although we modify them as well to increase the height to the ceiling.

The distortion is inevitable on any curved glass; the windshield glasses of our vehicles have distortion too, but only towards the edges of the glass – in so called Zone B, where the glass has a small curvature radius. Many times we have heard that our glass with thickness of 80 mm has less distortion than other glasses with thickness of 39 mm.

These restrictions are regulated by the German export control authorities (BAFA).

Our production facility is located in Schwarzatal.

Almost all even a windshield defogger, despite the glass thikness 80 mm (see photo below), but some have to be removed, e.g. the side airbags.

Toyota is the most popular basis for civil armored vehihcles thanks to its reliability, availability of spare parts, maintainability, etc.

The production time is 6 to 12 weeks depending on the requirements and interior options.

The prices depend on the protection level, interior requirements, additional options, etc. For your guidance the prices start from 80 thousand euro.

Please refer to the table of standards for the details on what bullets are included into each protection level. As you can see, VPAM 10 includes AP bullets of Kalashnikov, API bullets of Dragunov and AP bullets from tungsten carbide (WC).

Аny that are capable of carrying the additional weight of armor. The engine, steering, suspension, brakes etc. can be modified but only to a certain extent.

iABG have tested our vehicle in the controlled environment according to the conditions of the standards like BR 1063, FB1522, BRV 2009, Stanag 4569 etc., but in the real life it is impossible to say what weapons were used, what was the distance between the shots, how many kg TNT were used etc. For example, if you shoot at the glass at one and the same point many times, sooner or later you will shoot through.
Therefore, we accept liability that all our vehicles are produced according to the same design and using the same materials as the one that has been tested, but we cannot accept liability that no one will be injured in our vehicle under any circumstances.

The only way to protect a vehicle against RPG is to place so-called anti-RPG bar armor around the vehicle. Please see a picture below; if you search in the internet for “anti-rpg bar armor” you can find more similar pictures.

Our VR 10 vehicle has been tested at iABG, Germany. The vehicle has been tested according to BRV 2009, protection level VR 10 and all lower levels (including VR 7 of course). That means that VR 10 certificate for the armoring design includes and exceeds VR 7 certificate.
It is worth mentioning that the previous procedure, BRV 1999, did not require testing against lower protection levels, although the behavior of hard-core bullets (VR8-VR11) is totally different from the one of the soft-core bullets (VR5-VR7) – in certain cases soft-core bullets have much higher probability of penetration than the hard-core ones.
Our vehicles of other protection levels share the same design with the VR 10 vehicle but are armored using different materials according to the level required. Please read more about our vehicles on this page.
