The specific of our work often leads us to look at the dramatic and even tragic events at a professional angle.

A well-known journalist Pavel Sheremet was killed in the city center of Kiev, Ukraine. Leaving out the human, political and criminal aspects of the case, we can investigate the mechanics of the process. Ukrainian channel "Espresso.TV" has posted a video from the place of assassination, which shows the burning vehicle of the journalist.

As mass media has reported, the bomb was put under the bottom of the car and its capacity was about 600 grams of TNT. For an armored vehicle this threat would be relatively small, compared for example to an anti-tank mine. During the certification of our vehicle we tested it with both, an explosion of an anti-tank mine and an explosion of an anti–personnel mine (560 g of TNT) detonated under the bottom; in other words the attack that happened in Kiev was simulated as well.

You can watch the video of these tests and prove that in case of such an explosion a passenger inside our vehicle would not have died. Therefore, we are sincerely sorry that currently available technologies were not used for saving Pavel Sheremet’s life.
